ABOUT ME

I live off the grid, by choice, in the heart of the Slocan valley in
British Columbia. I was born in Prince George BC, making me a
true BC girl, but I have resided in Alberta and Saskatchewan as well.

It was in Calgary Alberta that I attended the Alberta College of Art
and Design. At first, my aspiration was to go into the Visual Communications department as a major, but quickly realised that my creativity was being squelched by the graphic rigidity and the intense work load of projects that lead to nowhere unless you have a high
end Mac or Apple computer. None the less, I did take some of
what I learned in VC into my transfer of major to the Textiles (Fiber) department at the college. This is where I found my home
creatively and quickly applied the theory and practice of techniques
into my creations. It is where my alter ego of 'Cosmouse' came into being as well. To this day the monicker still suits me in what I create.

Educationally, I graduated with honours from high school, I have
several pointed accolades  one of which is an article in the Calgary Herald featuring my Ukranian Psyanka.
I graduated from A.C.A.D. with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree
in 1999. I have several submissions of poetry that have been
published in the Star Pheonix newspaper in Saskatoon.

I have always had an eye for photography and I utilize that skill
often for my paintings, textiles, Ukranian eggs (Psyanka) having a large catalogue of work that will not fit on this site in its present format.

To pay the bills I work at a very busy veterinary hospital in Nelson,
British Columbia. I love my work there. It fulfills so many aspects
of my life and translates into my art - being around animals
all the time. It makes me Cosmouse!
